Learning vital information to possibly save the lives of infants and children over a minimum of 12 contact hours ran over 2 days.
2 day course for those working with infants (0-1) and children aged up to 18 years of age.
This course will enable the student to:
- Understand the role and responsibility of a paediatric first aider.
- Be able to assess an emergency situation.
- Provide first aid to an infant or child who is unresponsive.
- Provide first aid to an infant or child who is choking.
- Provide first aid to an infant or child with external bleeding.
- Provide first aid to an infant or child suffering from suspected shock.
- Provide first aid to an infant or child suffering from bites, stings and minor injuries.
- Provide first aid to an infant or child with suspected bone, muscle and joint injuries.
- Provide first aid to an infant or child with suspected head and spinal injuries.
- Provide first aid to an infant or child with an acute medical condition or sudden illness.
- Provide first aid to an infant or child with a condition affecting eyes, ears and nose.
- Provide first aid to an infant or child experiencing extremes of body temperature.
- Provide first aid to an infant or child who has sustained an electric shock.
- Provide first aid to an infant or child suffering from burns or scalds.
- Provide first aid to a child with suspected poisoning.
- Provide first aid to a child suffering from anaphylaxis.

There is also a blended option for this course whereby students can attend for just one day once they have completed a 6 hour online learning option, thereby reducing the cost.
